"ಧರ್ಮೋ ರಕ್ಷತಿ ರಕ್ಷಿತ:" ಎನ್ನುವ ನುಡಿಗಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಧರ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಭಗವಂತನ ನಾಮ ಸ್ಮರಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹರಿದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮನೆಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಠಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಭಜನಾ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೋಟೇಶ್ವರ ಮಾಗಣೆ ಹಿರಿಯರು ನಲವತ್ತರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಟಿಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡುಹಂಗಳೂರು ನಾರಣಪ್ಪಯ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅರೆಬೈಲ್ ಸೀತಾರಾಮ ತವಳರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಜನಾ ಸಪ್ತಾಹ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ನಂತರ ಅಮಾಸೆಬೈಲು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮ ಐತಾಳರು ದಾನವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಮೂಡುಹಂಗಳೂರು ನಾರಣಪ್ಪಯ್ಯನವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಗಣೆ ಬಂಧುಗಳ ಸಹಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ 1950ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೋದಂಡರಾಮ ಮಂದಿರದ ಉಗಮವಾಯಿತು. ತರುವಾಯ ಕುಂಭಾಸಿ ಪಾಟಾಳಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ದಾನವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ಮಂದಿರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಯಿತು. ತೆಕ್ಕಟ್ಟೆ ಚಾತ್ರ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಚಾತ್ರ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಚಾತ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲ ಚಾತ್ರರು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ರಾಜಸ್ತಾನದಿಂದ ಅಮೃತ ಶಿಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿತವಾದ ಹನುಮದ್ ಸೇವಿತ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಸೀತಾ ಸಹಿತ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ಹರಿಪದವನೈದ ಪರಮ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಶ್ವೋತ್ತಮ ತೀರ್ಥರ ಕರಕಮಲಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನೇ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದರು.

Our Koteshwar Magane elders, who adopted the saying "Dharmo Rakshati Rakshati" in their lives and raised the name of Bhagwanta for the protection of Dharma, reciting Haridasa literature in their homes and in the form of bhajans, were the ones who raised it in the form of bhajans. In the forties, a bhajan week was held at the Sri Gopalakrishna temple of Kotilingeshwara temple under the leadership of Moodhangaluru Naranappaiah and Arebail Sitarama Thavala. Later, the land donated by Amasebail Sri Rama Aitala was handed over to the trust led by Moodhangaluru Naranappalah and in 1950, with the cooperation of the Magane brothers, the Sri Kodandarama temple came into being. Later, a well-equipped temple was built by including the land donated by the Kumbhasi Patali family. Thekkatte Chatra brothers Sri Ramakrishna Chatra, Sri Raghavendra Chatra and Sri Gopala Chatra made history by bringing marble idols of Lord Hanuman, including Sri Rama, Lakshmana, Sita and others, from Rajasthan, North India, and installing them at the hands of the most revered Sri Sri Vishwottam Tirtha.
